Therapeutic Massage Techniques Available
Deep Tissue- Techniques that utilize deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage are used to affect deeper layers of muscle and soft tissue. This massage is most effective for chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation. Helps reduce soft tissue inflammation.
Myfascial Release - Uses sustained pressure and gentle, slow movement to facilitate the release of fascial restrictions, adhesions, and congestion. MFR is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of pain from head to toe. It is also very effective in the treatment of fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, and restriction of motion.
Neuromuscular Therapy - Used to locate and release spasms and hyper-contraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics, and flexibility to the tissues.
Orthopedic - Combines elements of sport and medical massage. Emphasis is placed on understanding both the injury and its rehabilitation criteria.
Sport - Designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. Pre-event massage can help in preparing soft tissue for activity. Post event massage will help in muscle recovery, reducing recovery time after the event. It is also very effective in the treatment of soft tissue injury, greatly reducing the time it takes to return to normal activity.
Pregnancy - This massage gives the expecting mom some welcome relief of muscle pain and discomfort as a result of her advancing pregnancy. Safety to mom and baby are of top concern.
Energy Therapies
CranioSacral Therapy - A gentle, noninvasive method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system. Your therapist will use a very light touch to test for restrictions in the CS system. CST enhances the body's natural healing processes and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. The craniosacral system could cause sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities. These problems may include chronic pain, eye difficulties, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities, and other dysfunction of the central nervous system.
Reiki - Reiki is a form of therapy that uses simple hands-on, no-touch, and visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means "universal life energy" in Japanese, and Reiki practitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on the physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Reiki touch therapy is used in much the same way to achieve similar effects that traditional massage therapy is used—to relieve stress and pain, and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.
